For the last couple of years, we have been reaching Mexico with food. This was not an easy nation to get into, but we are grateful for partnerships that have made this possible. One of our recent shipments of dried fruits fed over 7,000 people in Juarez, including more than 5,000 children and infants. Juarez has seen much violence that has affected many families. Some of the children who were fed have lost one or both parents. Some grandparents are caring for five or more children.
During the food distribution, Bible lessons were shared, along with singing and prayers. When possible, Bibles were given out and extra meals were sent home for later use. As Pastor Pablo Gonzalez said, “Because of the food, people are drawn to the church. The pastors all know that spiritual food is important, but it’s hard to preach to people that are hungry.”
He went on to say, “Our ministry is very grateful to the brothers that send the fruit…. It is such a great blessing what you give us. We have also given a fraction of the fruit to adults, including women who find themselves in difficult situations. We are trying to utilize what we have to the best of our ability and especially for the children in our dining facilities. Thank you and may God send you many blessings.”
