On April 12th, Feeding The Nations shipped the 2nd 40 foot container of food loaded out of Maryland. The three refugee/displaced camps near and around Kigali will be receiving the food. We now have in transit to Rwanda 546,000 rice/vegetable meals (42.5 tons). Each year during the month of April, a memorial week is set aside to remember the nearly 1 million lives that were lost during the 100 Day Genocide 18 years ago.
Zambia – March 2012 Update
March 28, 2012: Today 42,500 pounds (19,038 KG) of dried vegetable soup left California for Lusaka, Zambia. This will produce 750,000 bowls of soup, and a value of $105,000. Included in this shipment were 1,200 Bibles . The number of children we help and support with food has grown from 6,500 to 7,800 in the eighteen Christian schools and orphanages.
March 27, 2012: FTN has received numerous requests from Zambia stating how much the children loved the vegetable soup that has previously been shipped. FTN has sent 6 separate 40 foot containers over the past several years. Thank you Gleanings for the Hungry.
March 20, 2012: FTN received an email from David and Connie Keating, our FTN missionary administrators in Lusaka, that the feeding program is such a success that it has now grown from 6,500 last year to 7,800 children this year of 2012.
March 9, 2012: Another 40 foot container left the USA for a FTN Zambia project. This 43,500 pounds was loaded and shipped out of Raleigh, NC. We thank Stop Hunger Now for partnering with us to help the desperate children that are receiving hot meals each day in the 18 Christian schools and orphanages that we help.
Afghanistan – March 2012 Update
March 21, 2012: All the food has now arrived in-country and is being distributed to the needy families.
March 1, 2012: FTN shipped a total of 52,000 pounds of food that will provide over 300,000 meals thanks to Impact Lives, Feed My Starving Children, The Denton Program/US Air Force and the Lamia Afghan Foundation. This team effort will help feed many desperate, hungry families located in camps around Kabal, Afghanistan.
United States – Alabama – February through March 2012 Update
March 12, 2012: FTN shipped $50,000 worth of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry nutritional meal replacement to Isaiah 58 Ministires in Oxford, AL. These vitamin rich meals will help provide daily requirements that many living below the poverty level rarely can afford to buy.
February 27, 2012: FTN shipped $16,400 worth of children’s chewable multi-vitamins to help support the community outreaches in Oxford, AL through Isaiah 58 Ministries.
Honduras – March 2012 Update
The two 40 ft containers cleared customs and arrived at Mission Lazarus the first week of March. This food is now being distrubuted to the needy of San Marcos de Colon Choluteca, Honduras.
