Feeding The Nations continues to feed approximately 3,000 children daily.
Cuba – June through August 2012 Update
June -August 2012 Update
Without our partners and friends around the world, it would be extremely hard to carry out any FTN project. One such partner is First Baptist Church of Woodway, Texas which is also “Cuba Vision Network”. FTN was contacted about possible donations of food for Cuba
For many years FTN has tried to send food into Cuba. Our first and foremost concern was getting the food to the people in need. The red tape on the US and the Cuban governments side always provided many challenges and closed doors.
When we were contacted by the First Baptist Church we asked many questions. Ultimately, we are responsible to our food donors to insure the food clears customs, licenses, correct documentation and distribution plans are in place. After two months of review the decision was made to move forward slowly to insure complete success of the mission.
Our first container with 27,381 pounds of food was shipped on June 27, 2012.
FTN’s second container of 44,116 pounds of food was shipped on August 15, 2012.
Feeding The Nations is extremely pleased to announce that both 40 foot containers arrived safely in Havana, Cuba. The containers were processed and cleared customs without a hitch.
The first container of food was distributed to the local churches and needy families. The second is now being distributed.
We are so thankful to everyone who made this project successful. FTN will provide photos and more information in the next month.
We thank God that a door was opened for FTN and we pray for wisdom on how we may continue to help and bless people in need.
Rwanda – August 2012 Update
August 24, 2012: The 4th container was loaded out of Maryland and left the port of Baltimore on September 3, in transit to Kigali, Rwanda. This brings Feeding The Nations to a total of 1.1 million meals in 2012 for Rwanda. God is so good. Our goal was 1 million meals and we have exceeded that total.
Zambia – July 2012 Update
On July 19, 2012: FTN partnered with Global Assistance and Feed My Starving Children for a project to Zambia. One 40 foot container was loaded and shipped from Schaumburg, IL with 272,160 rice/vegetable meals, weighing 42,322 pounds. This wonderful food will help support and feed now 8,100 children (many orphans) in and around Lusaka.
Mexico – July 2012 Update
On July 31, 2012 FTN received a blessing from Feed My Starving Children of 272,160 rice/vegetable meals. FTN then partnered with Root International for a Mexico project. A 53 foot semi-truck was loaded out of Minnesota and moved to El Paso, Texas. The 42,322 pounds of food was off-loaded into a USA warehouse and is being cleared by the Mexican authorities to move the full 35 pallets into Mexico. An update will follow very soon on all the distribution sites.
On July 2, 2012 FTN partnered with Hunger Plus and shipped 42,000 pounds of dried vegetable soup valued at $106,500. This soup was trucked to Yuma, AZ and was off-loaded and prepared for shipment to move across the border. This soup will be delivered to several cities and rural villages in northern Mexico. The main region will be San Luis in Sonora, Mexico.
