In 2013, Feeding the Nations reached 25 nations, including Honduras. A team of 12 visited Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on a short, but impactful trip. While there, the team fed 1,000 people.
At one school, they fed and played with over 200 kids, and then invited the local community to a church service that night.
They witnessed heart-breaking moments, such as watching people dig through piles of trash along with dogs. These people searched for any scrap of food they could find. Some desperate and homeless people had even begun opening sarcophagi in the local cemetery to sleep in at night to be safer.
But, there were also moments of great joy, such as when the team visited an orphanage that cares for 20 children. The children had come with worms, lice and no hope. Now they energetically run around, living healthy lives that are full of hope because of love and the message of Jesus Christ.
