Thanks to our partnerships with Hunger Plus, Root International and Way of the Cross, we have now been able to feed the hungry in Mexico. Getting the food across the border had been a problem to be solved. We celebrate that we now have solutions for getting the food safely and securely across the borders and into the hands of those who need it most. We have reached the Matamoros, Juarez and San Luis regions, covering the eastern, central and western areas of the country. While we provided 2.5 million meals last year, our efforts continue for 2014, with 1.3 million meals scheduled to arrive in March.
Our Own Story
It all started on Sunday, December 26, 2004, when an earthquake in the Indian Ocean sparked a deadly tsunami that became one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history. The tsunami killed over 230,000 people in 14 nations. Seeing the great need and the opportunity to help, FTN was born in February 2005. Its very first mission was to get vital food and nutrition to those who were affected by the tsunami.
Nearly two decades later, FTN is still committed to sharing the love of God, while bringing the abundance of the developed world to those in critical need in the third world. FTN has reached 75 nations with over $100 million in total goods and services worldwide, including 150 million meals. [Read more here]
