India: Feeding Phul

Through our FTN Finland office, 700 children in India are fed each school day in Christian schools. One such student is Phul:

Hello my name is Phul. I am 9 years old and I live in northeast India. My home is in the countryside in a village but I live in Pakur in a girl’s hostel with more than a hundred girls and go to school. In the hostel they give us food donated by Feeding The Nations. I love the food because it tastes good. Chicken is my favorite; we’ll get it once a week. At home I might get chicken once a month, because it is so expensive. If you ever come to visit me I want from all my heart to welcome you.

Our Own Story

It all started on Sunday, December 26, 2004, when an earthquake in the Indian Ocean sparked a deadly tsunami that became one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history. The tsunami killed over 230,000 people in 14 nations. Seeing the great need and the opportunity to help, FTN was born in February 2005. Its very first mission was to get vital food and nutrition to those who were affected by the tsunami.

Nearly two decades later, FTN is still committed to sharing the love of God, while bringing the abundance of the developed world to those in critical need in the third world. FTN has reached 75 nations with over $100 million in total goods and services worldwide, including 150 million meals. [Read more here]
