As of Friday afternoon, the death toll from Hurricane Matthew surged to more than 800 fatalities in Haiti alone. The storm struck Haiti on Tuesday, October 4 with 145-mph winds, torrential rain and strong storm surge. As recovery efforts take place, death tolls are expected to rise, along with concerns of a cholera outbreak.
Feeding The Nations currently has food on the ground and ready for immediate distribution in both Cuba and Haiti. We are sending 6 disaster response containers of food that will provide over 1,000,000 meals to people who have seen their lives washed away. These containers will go to multiple areas to help ease the immediate need for food.
