On June 9, 2011 Feeding The Nations teamed up with Hunger Plus to bless the Association Casa De Esperanza in Tegucigalpa with 285,000 meals. Honduras is a poverty stricken nation with vast numbers of homeless and abandoned children who commonly eat from dumps. The Association Casa de Esperanza distributes food to children at the dumps, orphanages and shelters while sharing with them the love of Jesus.
Honduras – April 2011 Update
On April 28th one 40ft container filled with 271,000 Manna Pack Rice meals valued at $65,000 was donated to FTN by Feed My Starving Children. This food was sent to bless the Tolupan tribe in the rugged mountain areas of San Juan, Honduras, as we partner for the first time with “For His Kingdom Ministries”. The people of the Tolupan tribe are very difficult people to reach because there are no roads. Additionally, there is virtually no medical care nearby which forces them to walk 5 to 6 hours while crossing 4 rivers just to receive help. They do not give their babies names until they reach 10-12 months because so many die before that time. Their children are very malnourished. They eat whatever they can find. Getting food to them will be a challange.
