Afghanistan – August 2011 Update
We serve a big God and He is more than enough to provide when we ask. When Feeding The Nations (FTN) was contacted by Lamia Afghan Foundation (LAF) about helping supply food in Afghanistan, FTN did not hesitate but wanted to cover every base. This was important to insure that our first shipment of 60,000 meals arrived safely and the food was distributed to the needy. What a great success it was! From the donation of food, to the transportation and the distribution in Afghanistan, in all areas of concern, there were no problems.
A thank you letter written by the Lamia Afghan Foundation, they asked FTN to consider sending more food before the harsh winter arrived. Since everything went so well in the first outreach, FTN decided to move forward and this time increase the total number of meals. Impact Lives did not hesitate and agreed to provide 285,000 rice/vegetable meals for Afghanistan. With the help of LAF founder Lt. Gen. USAF (Ret.) John Bradley, an application for the Denton program was submitted and approved very quickly. On August 1, the meals were delivered to the 27th Aerial Port Squadron located in Minneapolis, MN for airlift support to Afghanistan. This food will be sent to two different areas with 50% going to Kabul and 50% going to Shindad.
